Don’t just be a problem solver … try to anticipate issues and problems. Those people who become very good at not just overcoming obstacles but anticipating what could go wrong and put plans in place to mitigate it stand out.

I like this thinking and believe we could take it a step further. For problems that are systemic in nature, we need to try to understand what it is about the system that is causing the problem. Once we understand its nature, we can look for opportunities to reformulate the system in more optimal ways which might obviate the problem.
